Jeff Cohn Cellars

2013 2 Guys 2 Barrels Viognier
2013 2 Guys 2 Barrels Viognier

Jeff's partnership with Yves Gangloff of Condrieu has again created a truly spectacular Viognier.  It is focused, rich, decadent, and intoxicating.  This wine has it all:  dried peaches and apricots, honey coated Gala apples and a touch of lime zest.

Tasting Notes
Mineral driven fruit, with layers of peaches, dried apricots, and a zest of lime, very exotic, creamy and long on finish.
92 Pts The Wine Advocate Jeb Dunnuck August 2016 "Another terrific vintage for this cuvee, which is from a collaboration between Jeff Cohn and Yves Gangloff, the 2013 Viognier 2 Guys 2 Barrels is one of the few Viogniers from California to have true Condrieu-like minerality and richness. Giving up lots of apricot, orane blossom, honeycomb and brioche, this fabulous white has full-bodied richness, notable concentration and a still fresh, focused and pure feel on the palate. It's a beautiful Viognier to drink over the coming year or two."
91 Pts Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine "The result of a joint endeavor between Jeff Cohn and Condrieu vigneron, Yves Gangloff, this potent and powerful take on Viognier is about as rich as they come. It is absolutely brimming with deep, fully ripe, highly concentrated fruit with layers of honey, peach and creamy oak, and, while its all-too-evident heat cannot be ignored, it is so generously stuffed that its excesses are easy to forgive. Make no mistake, this is not a Viognier for the faint of heart, and it is to be savored only with the very richest foods."
Vineyard Notes
Stagecoach is a very special vineyard that allows the minerality, complexity and depth to shine through in the wine.

Winemaker Notes
Our third vintage of this collaborative effort between Jeff Cohn and Yves Gangloff, one of the finest producers of Condrieu (Viognier), Cote Rôtie and St. Joseph (Syrah) in the Northern Rhône Valley. It is a privilege to work with him for another year on this wine.
