"The 2014 St. Peter's Church is 100% Zinfandel, but again has that beautiful floral nose that Cohn seems to achieve consistently. A big, sweet kiss of blackberry and black cherry fruit with baking spices, earth and a touch of pepper and forest floor. This is lush, full-bodied, stunning Zinfandel to drink over the next 7-8 years. By the way, it carries its 15.5% natural alcohol brilliantly."

"Mr. Cohn's Zinfandels rarely shy away from potency and extract, but they almost always exhibit plenty of very deep and explicit fruit that seems to stay a step or two ahead of the ubiquitous ripeness and that is most definitely the case here. The wine is big, it is ripe and it is highly concentrated with a full dose of defined, very deep, blackberry fruit that simply refuses to quit. It is underpinned by fairly substantial tannins that impart a slightly sere edge to its finish, and even if rich and intensely expressive right now, it follows in the footsteps of its 2014 mates in begging for at least a few years of cellar time."
500 ft elevation in the beautiful St. Peter's Church Vineyard, along with alluvial, loamy/clay soils adding lift to the wine, but a distinct richness and great mouthfeel.
