Minerality is the backbone, not tannins. Black cherry, blackberry, and roasted earth are the hallmarks of this wine. It's never over the top, more Hermitage-like.
Named for my youngest daughter, this wine comes from two different blocks. One produces the elegance and finesse and the other, the structure and depth of this wine. Together, they are the perfect balance. Intensely dark ruby red purple in color, it will stain the glass as you swirl it.
Aromas of black cherry, toasted brioche, white flowers, lavender, violets, savory notes of wild herbs and charcuterie. A mouth coating, classic Rockpile mineral structure and texture hits the front palate. Its focus on black cherry and hints of freshly crushed green and red peppercorns give way to a giving midpalate and long finish. A true reflection of my Haley’s personality.
At 2010 ft. elevation, our vineyard sites that we source from are rocky, and stressed. This gives me amazing fruit to make our Rockpile Vineyard Syrahs.
