2017 Iron Hill Vineyard Zinfandel Magnum
2017 Iron Hill Vineyard Zinfandel Magnum

A mysterious wine, deep black red color, with aromas of black cherry, savory, lavender, loamy, dark chocolate and hints of eucalyptus. A stunningly rich palate, that is a mirror image of the aromatics, but the dark Guanaja Valrhona chocolate takes the lead with touches of black currant and roasted earth filling out the wine. One of my favorite vintages from this vineyard.

Wine Profile
93 Pts Wine Spectator Plump in personality and sinewy in structure, offering orange peel, fruitcake spice and wild berry flavors that build toward plush tannins. Drink now through 2029. — TF 90 Pts Connoisseurs' Guide to CA Wines
Vineyard Notes
Iron Hill Vineyard is planted in an amphitheater style setting whereby different parts of the vineyard get full sun exposure throughout the day. Large rosemary and lavender patches are planted around the vineyard and many large rock piles are scattered in and around the vines. From the top of the vineyard is a panoramic view of the town of Sonoma.
