2017 El Diablo Vineyard Grenache
2017 El Diablo Vineyard Grenache
The Fallen Angel - Sustainably Farmed Vineyard

Due to the cooler vintage of 2017, we were able to allow the Grenache to hang and extra amount of time, that provided us with a wine that shows more of the complexity and depth that is El Diablo Grenache.

Starting with the garnet red color that is vibrant and just so exciting to swirl in the glass. An over-the-top nose that filled with black cherry, wild raspberry, strawberries, tarragon, thyme and just a hint of lavender. Very giving on the front and mid palate, with just enough structure to carry through to the explosive finish. The flavors are a complete reflection of the aromatics, but just a touch savory.

Tasting Notes
92+ pts Jeb Dunnuck - Also from the Russian River, the 2017 Grenache El Diablo is cut from the same mold as the Zinfandels and has a beautiful, spicy, floral, and incense-driven bouquet as well as lots of exotic red, black, and blue fruits, medium body, ripe, present tannins, and a rich yet also weightless texture that makes it a joy to drink. It’s going to continue drinking brilliantly for 8-10 years. 92 pts Wine Advocate - Plush and polished, with a vibrant core of raspberry, spiced cinnamon and grilled sage accents, gliding on the finish. Drink now through 2028. — TF - Drink Date: 2020 - 2027 The 2017 Grenache The Fallen Angel El Diablo Vineyard is pale to medium ruby and has bright aromas of blood orange, strawberry preserves and baked red cherries accented by dried violets, garrigue, earth and autumn leaves. Light to medium-bodied, it's bright, juicy and perfumed with a soft frame and nuanced finish. 91 pts Wine Spectator - Plush and polished, with a vibrant core of raspberry, spiced cinnamon and grilled sage accents, gliding on the finish. Drink now through 2028. — TF
