The harmonious balance of sun, wind and cool nights produced by this vintage create aromas of kirsch, white flowers, lavender, and plum with just a touch of black licorice. The palate is full bodied and loaded with black cherry, roasted herbs, strawberries, and cracked white pepper.
Krisch, lavender, plum and just a touch of black licorice and Herbs de Provence.

"The 2013 Grenache The Fallen Angel El Diablo Vineyard (100% Grenache) is a small cuvee of 232 cases. All of it was aged in neutral, large-format tanks prior to being bottled. Somewhat Pinot Noir-ish in its strawberry, cherry and lavendar-like notes, the wine is medium-bodied, in spite of its rather lofty 15.2% alcohol, which is quite normal for Grenache that has reached maturity. The wine has a dark ruby color, an expansive, round, juicy texture, and excellent purity and length. This is another beauty from Jeff Cohn. Drink it over the next 3-4 years. "

This beautiful vineyard in the heart of the Russian River Valley is the perfect sight for Grenache. It's cool enough, warm, enough, windy enough, paired with a great grower and great soils makes for one of our favorite Single Vineyard Rhones in the portfolio. All Bud wood originated from Rhone Guru John Albans' vineyards.
100% Grenache comprised of Chateauneuf du Pape suitcase clones.
Aged in very large neutral format barrels (600L), this is one of my favorite wines we make every year. This is an incredible food wine in the lush mouthfeel, complex layers, yet finishing with so much roundness and finesse.
