As Harvest Comes to a Close

This is my conclusion as harvest starts to close down over the next 2 weeks:

20 different vineyards

28 different lots

1500 punch downs

10,000 miles driven to look at vineyards

40+ phone calls to growers

6 cases of beer consumed

1.5 cases wine consumed

Lots of cheese and bread eaten

Only 8 extra large pizzas munched down

4000 cleaning towels washed and dried over the course of harvest

2 hydrometers broken

2 French interns

3 other great interns

1 assistant winemaker who has worked very hard and desperately needs a day off !

1 winemaker, who is glad the Magic is still there every day I walk in the winery
